Burmese Teakwood
Colour:   Dark golden-yellow, turning brown and dark brown with age
Grain:   Normally straight, often wavy when grown in dry localities. Very coarse and uneven texture
Hardness:   640 - 880 Kg / M3









Merbau
Colour:   Sapwood in well-defined and pale yellow in colour. Heartwood is yellowish to orange brown when fresh, weathering to brown or dark red-brown
Grain:   Grain is interlocked. Texture is coarse but even.
Hardness:   515 - 1040 Kg / M3
Burmese Ironwood
Colour:   Uniform reddish-brown with few marking or faintly veined with darker lines. Turns to dark reddish-brown with ageing. Sapwood is pale reddish-white and narrow.
Grain:   variable from straight to broadly interlocked, sometimes wavy. The texture is moderately fine and even
Hardness:   890 - 1150 Kg / M3










Belian
Colour:   The heartwood is yellowish brown to reddish brown when freshly sawn but darkens on exposure to a dark or chocolate brown with time and the sapwood is easily defined being a pale to light yellowy brown.
Grain:   The grain is usually straight and the texture moderately fine and even.
Hardness:   Hardness kN (Janka) 13.0 (green)
Walnut
Colour:   Sapwood is creamy white, while the heartwood is light brown to dark chocolate brown, occasionally with a purplish cast and darker streaks.
Grain:   Generally straight grained, but sometimes with wavy or curly grain.
Hardness:   500 - 700 Kg / M3









Kempas
Colour:   Sapwood is well-defined and yellow in colour. Heartwood is pinkish when fresh and darkening to a bright orang-red or deep brown
Grain:   Grain is interlock, often very interlock. Texture is coarse and even
Hardness:   770 - 1120 Kg / M3
